CHPK Group has announced Dr. Jianqiang Mai as Managing Director, Technical and Quality Assurance (QA) Services and his appointment to the company’s Senior Management Team (SMT).
In his expanded leadership role, Dr. Mai will oversee the Technical and QA functions across the CHPK Group, driving excellence in service delivery, technical innovation, and quality standards across all operational areas. His appointment to the SMT further strengthens CHPK’s strategic leadership as the business continues to grow and serve clients across complex built environment challenges.
Dr. Mai brings extensive expertise to his new position, with over 20 years of experience in fire engineering and related technical services. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE) and recently became a full reviewer for Chartered Engineer applications at the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE). Lately, Dr. Mai served as Technical Director for CHPK Fire Engineering, where he led technical strategy and solutions development for a diverse number of projects.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mai has specialised in fire safety strategy, risk assessment, external wall safety appraisals, and expert witness work, delivering insightful and compliant engineering solutions that align with both regulatory and client expectations. He has also contributed to academia as a senior lecturer, enhancing his ability to mentor and develop technical talent.

As a member of the SMT, Dr. Mai will work closely with CHPK’s senior leadership team to shape the company’s strategic direction, champion innovation and uphold excellence across all service lines.
