Overview: Knightsbridge Estate is a major mixed-use redevelopment at the heart of one of London’s most prestigious shopping districts. Our design seeks to reinvigorate, restore and celebrate this key London city block by unlocking space for contemporary retail, offices and new apartments grouped around a sheltered open roof garden. Public realm improvements include wider pavements along Brompton Road with a new improved entrance to Knightsbridge Underground Station.
Following our successful relationship with Chelsfield, they recommended us to SKANSKA, the main developer of the project, to support them with Principal Designer duties. As such, we effectively manage and deliver the PD function for the project.
This involves regular design team meetings, developing solutions to various complex design hazards. We coordinate the Design Risk Register, which has over 40 CDM design risk items that require careful planning.
Our first job with CHPK was back in 2011, since then we have had over 14 major projects with them down in the Knightsbridge Estate as well as multi-million pound projects. They offer us a variety of services including Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Party Wall Services and CDM Consultancy/ Advice. We would not consider a project on the estate without first consulting Gavin and his team as they are very proactive, professional, trustworthy and pragmatic consultants who we can 100% rely on.”
