DIRECTOR

Tom Moriarty

Tom is a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club and specialises in neighbourly matters and contentious dilapidations instructions for either Landlord or Tenant. He has been at CHPK for over ten years and acts for various institutional clients and property companies.

Tom holds the RICS Certificate in Dilapidations.

Tom has a keen interest in vehicles with four or two wheels as well as dinghy sailing.

DIRECTOR

Gavin Lacey

Gavin is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS). Gavin joined CHPK in October 2005.

Gavin specialises in project management and construction health and safety, particularly in relation to major redevelopment of existing properties where significant structural alterations may be required. He has developed the CHPK collaborative and supportive approach to project management.

Gavin also deals with dilapidations claims and has acted for both Landlord and Tenant including nationwide retail companies.

Gavin has two young daughters so is currently spending his spare time learning to plait hair.

Director of Act Building Control (Sister Company)

Alex Maidment

Alex is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and fellow of the Institution of Building Engineers.

Alex regularly provides high level technical advice to a wide range of clients across a range of building purpose groups and sectors. Alex has expert knowledge of The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 and CDM Regulations 2015, and has a thorough, working knowledge of the Building Regulations and allied legislation.

Alex is a keen cyclist both on and off road, and also enjoys skiing during the winter months, where possible.

DIRECTOR – CDM

Richard Powell

Richard Is Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS).

Richard has over 15 years of experience, assisting Clients, Designers and Design & Build Contractors across the UK to discharge their duties stemming from the CDM Regulations in an efficient manner that does not hinder project progress.

Richard has a vast array of experience across a wide range of projects across a variety of sectors, with extensive experience of complex city centre new build residential and commercial towers and also refurbishments of live hotels.

Richard is a big sports fan and is a keen weekend city break tourist.

ASSOCIATE Director

David Kelly

David Kelly is a member of the RICS and works within the surveying and project management team. David is a meticulous surveyor and project manager, with a keen eye for the details of the instruction at hand while still being able to see the bigger commercial picture for the client.

David enjoys acting as a mentor to the more junior staff members and has overseen a number of RICS candidates through their Assessment of Professional Competence.

David is a keen sportsman and enjoys various forms of training, including boxing.

ASSOCIATE Director

Toby Ramsden

Toby is an RICS Chartered Building Surveyor with experience supporting large investment firms, pension funds and asset managers across the industrial, commercial, office and retail sectors. Predominantly working within the commercial market some of Toby’s previous instructions include technical due diligence for high value acquisitions and dilapidations advisory and negotiation on behalf of landlords and tenants.

Toby is also an experienced PM and contractor administrator successfully delivering projects from £25k to £2m+.

Derek Bergin (BSc MRICS)

Derek is an experienced Quantity Surveyor with 30 years of experience in the construction industry as a whole. Always a team player, he has had much success in delivering a wide variety of prestigious projects to high-profile clients. He estimates budgets and provides pre and post-contract financial services across Education, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Residential and Commercial sectors.

Paul Gill (BSc (Hons) MRICS

Paul leads the Building Surveying, Project Management and Cost Consultancy Team at CHPK and over 25 years-experience.  His specialism is complex Dilapidations claims, acting for both Landlord and Tenants, in particular saving one client over £10million on a portfolio of properties – approximately 67% of the landlord’s initial claims.

Party Walls are also one of Paul’s favourite jobs having been appointed by both the Building Owner and Adjoining Owners in the past on commercial, retail industrial and transport projects. Finally, Paul also acts as Contract Administrator on projects ranging from office CAt A works to external repair and maintenance projects.

ASSOCIATE Director

Craig Fisher CMaPS

Craig is an APS Certified Member who recently joined us to support the CDM Director and the wider CHPK team in our CDM department at our London office. Craig has extensive expertise in all aspects of the construction profession, including contracting, cladding engineering, consulting, design, project management, and all things CDM.

In addition to his vast experience, Craig has completed a level 5 Fire Engineering Diploma, and is currently in the process of obtaining his Institution of Fire Engineers Membership. Craig is passionate about de-risking all stages of the construction process, so his primary objective is not only to engage and influence designers in the design risk management process, but also to translate the wins and certainty of that process into buildable structures for the contractor and, ultimately, deliver maintainable and functional projects for the client and end-user.

Director of Services Engineering

Kevin King MCIBSE CEng

Kevin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (MCIBSE) and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng).  Kevin heads up the Services Engineering team at CHPK having gained extensive knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Engineering in both Commercial, Residential, New Build or Refurbishment projects with a particular interest in heritage / listed buildings.

He also undertakes services inspections including Condition Surveys, Preventative Planned Maintenance Schedules, Dilapidations and Acquisition Surveys.
