Changes made to Approved Document B

On the 5th July, MHCLG released the updated Approved Document B (Fire Safety). This review was prompted by the Grenfell tragedy and clarifies issues and makes changes in relation to external fire spread.

There has also been a Circular issued regarding the use of combustible materials on balconies since the balcony fire in East London.

Our briefing note (click link below) explains the changes to Approved Document B and the advice on the materials used on balconies.
